Democracy Is Grounded On Peaceful Elections- Hon. WillyEvans Obiri Awuah

The District Chief Executive of Abura Asebu Kwamankese District in the central region of Ghana, Honourable Willyevans Obiri-Awuah has urged all Ghanaians especially the youth to abstain from any form of election violence as the nation prepares to go to the polls this year. He said this when delivering his speech on the theme 'Our Democracy, Our Pride' during the 67th Independence Day Celebration on 6th March,2024 at Abakrampa in the district.



Honourable Obiri-Awuah added that,we should be reminded of the great sacrifices by our forefathers to secure the rights enjoyed today and take the pride in the fact that we continue to uphold the principles of liberty,equality and justice for all.He encourages all Ghanaians to collectively safeguard  and strenghten our democratic institutions, ensuring that they remain inclusive  and representative of all voices.





The D.C.E used the opportunity to encourage the citizens to be part in taking decisions that affect them like choosing leaders and also holding them accountable and demanding transparency.

He said, though democracy comes with its own challenges, we ,must all strive to uphold  its principles, to defend the rights of all citizens, and to ensure that no voice go unheard.

He ceased the privelege to announce the Phase 2 of the Planting For Food And Jobs Flagship programme of the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo to empower individuals economically and advised that everyone should get involved and embrace this flagship programme so that no one is left out in the district.

The District also awarded schools that performed well in the  march past and 2023 BECE
