RST OGYEDOM FOUNDATION SENSITIZED 2024 BECE CANDIDATES ON EXAM MALPRACTICES AT KWAMANKESE

The Rural Street Team, (RST), an NGO with international touch  committed to the pursuit of efficient upbringing of kids and young adults, on Wednesday in conjunction with the OGYEDOM FOUNDATION held a one-day Carrier Counseling and Sensitization forum for the impeding 2024 BECE  candidates thereby to help them overcome negative influences such as, timidity and anxiety which sometimes affect their performances.

Aside of that, the occasion was also meant to boost their self-confidence.

The participants who  were drawn from the JHS 3 pupils in cluster of Basic schools at Kwamankese namely,  the Odompo D/A & Ayeldu St. Augustine's Catholic Basic schools were spotted neatly dressed and accompanied by their respective heads and class teachers. The event which was themed as " My Education, My Future" was mainly sponsored by Nana Takyi Ogyedom I, (Twafohen of Kwamankese Odompo and Chairman of OGYEDOM FOUNDATION, however attracted a large turnout of pupils, teachers and Nananom and chaired by Nana Amoah Bekoe Annan XI, the Odikro of Odompo and Nyimfahen of Kwamankese Traditional Council and supported by Rev. Father Afirifa, the Minister in- charge of the St Augustine Catholic church at Ayeldu.

 Speaking to pupils, the Facilitator, Mr. Justice Ghoman, the Head of Planning & Statistics at the AAK District Assembly took them through several topics and methods that could be used to help achieve the best results in the exam and also psych up their minds in an anticipation of overcome so-called "Exam Phobia'.



Besides, the children were also cautioned against indulgence in immorality and such practices like promiscuity, alcoholism, pre- marital sex  which have the potential to retard their developments.

For his part, Pastor  Felix Lamptey, the (RST Instructor ), who deputize for his boss, Mr John Kwesi Appiah, the Director of  RST intimated that his outfit had since its establishment trained many people in terms of acquiring job Skil and occasional impartation and reshaping the moral character in students so as to make them become economically viable in competitive market useful in the society. He lauded the sponsors of the programme and also charged pupils to be amiable to discipline saying that is the open door to prosperity since "Knowledge without Character is Useless". he advised.

Earlier, in his acceptance speech, Nana Amoah Bekoe Annan called on parents to prioritize the education of their children as a sure guarantee for their own future wellbeing. Our children are the most cherished assets that can help safeguard  one's future" he said.

Other imminent public Speakers including, Madam Yvonne Kwaran, the District Social Welfare Director, took turns to admonish the pupils with their rich experiences to bear on them.

In another development, the occasion afford this reporter opportunity to learn about the ongoing developments in the above mentioned schools who are lacking basic learning and teaching materials. They requested for mono desks, renovation of the Head teacher's quarters and an urgent step to stop the ongoing encroachment of the school land at Odompo D/A Basic School by individuals.

At the tail end of the programme, the pupils were treated to good music as  they dine and wine.

Present to grace the occasion were Nanahema of Odompo and Madam Alberta Arthur, the Ayeldu GES Circuit Supervisor among others.
