Hopeless governance’ — Kwakye Ofosu slams Akufo-Addo, Bawumia over decline in cocoa production

Mr Felix Ofosu Kwakye, a leading communicator of the National Democratic Congress and also aspiring Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency has slammed the administration of President Nana Akufo-Addo over the country's declining cocoa production.

Mr Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that when the New Patriotic Party government first took office in 2017, annual cocoa production stood at 969,000 metric tonnes.

However, he says production has declined to around 500,000 metric tonnes last season.

Projections, according to the NDC member also indicates there will be further fall to 492,000 metric tonnes for the current 2023- 2024 crop year.

In a social media post seen by ofofororadioonline onTuesday,12/03/2024,Mr Kwakye Ofosu stated that the fall in production is a sign of hopeless governance by Akufo-Addo and his vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
